Sales Promotion Campaigns

Sales promotion is a technique intended for broad consumer participation with the following characteristics:
  • intends to increase the sales, patronage, and/or goodwill of a product;
  • offers reward for the purchase of the product, security, service, or wining a contest, game, and other similar competitions;
  • involves determination of winner/s;
  • utilizes mass media and other widespread means of information.
The DTI enforces the sales promotion provisions of the Consumer Act of the Philippines and its Implementing Rules and Regulations.  Except for foods, drugs, cosmetics, devices, and hazardous substances, which is under the Department of Health (DOH).
 
For DISCOUNT SCHEME, below is the charter:

Note: For discount/ price reduction scheme, promo duration shall not exceed three (3) months.  It may be extended but original promo period plus extension should not exceed a total of three (3) months.  However, in case of closing out sale, the period shall be six (6) months.
